Samantha Giles says she will leave her role playing Bernice Blackstock later this year
Iconic Emmerdale actress Samantha Giles has revealed she will leave her role playing Bernice Blackstock after 25 years.
Ok! Magazine reports her final scenes will air in mid-November. Samantha remained tight-lipped about her exit storyline and whether there would be scope for her to return to the Dales.Her upcoming exit will be the fourth time that Samantha has left the show since making her debut in 1998. She managed to scoop a TV Quick Award for Best Actress before she left in 2002. Samantha appeared in Hollyoaks from 2008 to 2010 as Valerie Holden but returned to Emmerdale in 2012.
She said: "I am beyond excited to be playing the Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella at the Bradford Alhambra Theatre.
