Emma Raducanu has been knocked out of the AusOpen in the second round of the tournament
Emma Raducanu has been knocked out of the Australian Open in the second round of the tournament.
The British No. 1 won her first round match in straight sets against 27-year-old tennis ace German Tamara Korpatsch, but couldn’t recreate the same fate against world No. 7, 18-year-old Coco Gauff.AdvertisementAnd as 20-year-old Raducanu looked to be slipping to another defeat, she got herself back into the match, winning three straight sets to pull the second set back to 5-4 as Gauff tried to stay in the rally.
After going to advantage twice in the fourth set and Gauff managing to pull it back, the 2021 US Open winner then snuffed out two of the American’s advantages before Gauff won.Despite Raducanu taking the lead, Gauff won the decider 7-4, as the Brit failed to capitalise on her chance to get back into the match.
