BREAKING: Emergency services scramble to building collapse in South East London.
It is believed that the gable end of an art studio has collapsed leaving the building ‘structurally unsafe’ it has been claimed.
A large number of cordons are in place and drivers are being advised to seek an alternative route whilst emergency services continue their investigation to see if any persons were in the building prior to the collapse. Residents are said to have been evacuated from the surrounding properties and asked to find alternative accommodation for the night.
A witness said: ‘There were a few children walking up to the Sainsbury’s and the stones and bricks nearly hit them.A shopkeeper added: ‘It’s such a busy area, we have already had so many customers commenting on how lucky everyone was nobody got hurt. ‘There were people picking up pizzas, it was a busy Monday night, I’m just really happy no-one was injured.’Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at
