Breaking news this evening
The emergency services have been called out to a house fire in Top Valley. Crews were called to Flaxton Way, with the incident affecting one property on the street.
A spokesperson for the service said they received the first call about the incident at 6.20pm on Wednesday . Five fire engines and a command support unit were on scene at one stage, with appliances from fire stations in Stockhill, Arnold, London Road, Mansfield and Edwinstowe in attendance.said that crews had come away from the scene for now as the fire had been put out. But they added that crews would be back "before the morning" to ensure that the property was still safe.
The spokesperson was unable to comment at this stage on whether there were any injuries as a result of the fire, or on the scale of damage to the property affected. Flaxton Way is situated near Southglade Park and is around a 10-minute drive from Nottingham City Hospital.
