This is part of Musk's vision for Twitter 2.0 Twitter TechNave

e company’s owner Elon Musk. Moreover, the social media platform is also adding encrypted video and voice calling between accounts too.

As reported by The Verge, Musk revealed this during a meeting with employees today in presentation slides titled ‘Twitter 2.0’ at the company’s HQ in San Fransisco yesterday. Musk also stressed that the company wants users to be able to communicate without being concerned about their privacy or a data breach.

Twitter had previously started and then paused building encrypted DMs, but now, Musk wants encryption to be the top priority for the company. In his vision for Twitter 2.0, Musk said to his employees at the company that it should be the case that he can’t look at anyone’s DMs even “if somebody has a gun to his head,”.

Besides that, Musk also added that he wants Twitter to add the ability to do voice and video chats via DMs on the platform, which should also have end-to-end encryption. In the meeting, the Twitter owner also went on to praise Signal for its encrypted chat app and said that Signal’s creator Moxie Marlinspike may potentially help out Twitter with encrypting DMs.
