But identity, who we are, is inextricably linked to every part of how we think and how we make decisions, whether we admit it or not. American voters may insist that we are not racist, homophobic, or sexist, but these narratives have been force-fed to us and impact our decision-making. It’s very hard to separate Elizabeth Warren as a presidential candidate from Elizabeth Warren as a woman, and even harder to say that gender doesn’t impact our decision-making, consciously or otherwise.
But we already know that.
