‘Elizabedi’: Siya Kolisi teases fellow Springbok Eben Etzebeth [watch]

Double Rugby World Cup-winning captain Siya Kolisi is a huge fan of fellow Springbok Eben Etzebeth's new nickname.

The double Rugby World Cup-winning captain seems to only call the Boks lock by his new monikor ever since a viral video of an anxious South African fan screeching “Elizabedi” instead of Etzebeth during the quarter finals.The Tik Tok video, which had everyone in stitches, shows a young man standing in front of the TV as Etzebeth approaches the try line to score a try during the Springboks’ 28-29 smash and grab victory over Rugby World Cup 2023 host nation, France, on 15 October.

The Springboks etched their names into the annals of rugby history by becoming the first team to ever win the coveted Webb Ellis Cup four times. This is after the Bokke beat the All Blacks 12-11 in the final. Currently, the team is on a trophy parade which started with a welcome ceremony at the Union Buildings on Thursday where Kolisi and the Boks arrived in a yellow and green bus to a cheering crowd and media entourage.The tour started in Pretoria, Johannesburg and Soweto and concluded at the FNB Stadium on Thursday, 2 November. The Boks will then take in Cape Town and Durban before concluding in the Eastern Cape on Sunday, 5 November.
