In the end, there was some justice for the Calgary Stampeders offensive line.
The Stampeders o-line had three representatives on the West Division all-star team. The group that had held opponents to a CFL-low 17 sacks and had helped its running backs pick up more yards on the ground than any other team suddenly had left tackle Derek Dennis, centre Sean McEwen and right guard Ryan Sceviour all included as all-stars.Article content
Henry got his due, too, after a season that saw him catch 62 passes for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns. Moxey was named an all-star, as well. His stats don’t tell the full story. Moxey switched from the field corner position to the more intensive boundary corner spot after Tre Roberson went down with injury earlier in the season and was often basically impossible to beat on long balls.
They were added to a list of Stamps all-stars that already included running back Ka’Deem Carey, who led the league in rushing yards and was the team’s Most Outstanding Player nominee. Defensive end Shawn Lemon rightfully got an all-star nod, as well, as did defensive tackle Mike Rose, linebacker Cameron Judge, kicker Rene Paredes and punter Cody Grace.It will be the voting fiasco that makes most of the headlines, but ultimately, there was a happy ending for the deserving Stampeders who were rewarded for their hard work.
