After four days missing in a central Alberta woodland, 78\u002Dyear\u002Dold Lorraine Vandenbosch was found safe by searchers Thursday.

Minutes after she was found, rescuers had difficulty plucking Vandenbosch from next to a steep embankment perched over a water body, a task nonetheless performed by the crew of an RCMP helicopter, say Mounties. The woman has been reunited with family members and taken to hospital as a precaution and for assessment, said Savinkoff, adding the happy ending has left a large contingent of searchers jubilant.Search-and-rescue crews had been prepared for the worst after the diminutive, five-foot-tall Vandenbosch, who suffers from cognitive challenges, walked away from the Dickson Point Campground at Gleniffer Lake on Monday morning.
“We were really concerned about what access she had to … there was some concern about her cognitive faculties.”
