During his senior season, Jake Williams has rushed for more than 2,000 yards, setting a new single-season program record.
Oftentimes, it’s said that football is family, and that’s especially true for ELCO High School senior running back Jake Williams .He grew up around the Raiders program with his dad on the coaching staff and also got to watch his older brothers play on Friday nights.“It’s great because I always grew up here, and I was a water boy with my brothers,” Williams said. “I got to play with my older brother freshman and sophomore year and now playing with my younger brother.
“It’s more important to me that we can help build a good program, and the relationships that I got to build through football is more important than the records.”Outside of his on-field talent, it’s his humility that stands out to his coaches and teammates.“We started off the year talking about, you know, the guys up front are really where it starts, and the yards that we’re going to see in the newspapers are their yards,” Head Coach Bob Miller said.
