El actor británico Michael Caine, de 90 años, ha decidido retirase de la actuación tras el reciente estreno de su última película, 'The Great Escaper', que filmó junto a la fallecida Glenda Jackson, según lo ha revelado a la BBC.

'Sigo diciendo que me voy a retirar. Bueno, ahora lo estoy', afirmó el intérprete, que ostenta el título de 'sir' , tras recibir buenas críticas por su última actuación. Con una extensa filmografía a sus espaldas, con películas como 'Zulu' o 'The Italian Job', Caine ha trabajado en más de 100 filmes a lo largo de una carrera que abarca siete décadas.

'No tienes protagonistas a los 90 años, tendrás chicos y chicas jóvenes y guapos. Así que pensé: mejor me voy con todo esto', agregó. Caine también dijo que había rechazado la última película tres veces antes de aceptar el papel, que protagonizó con Glenda Jackson, quien murió el pasado junio tras completar el filme.
