He pointed out that an inspection, also attended by MMC Bakang Lethoko, was conducted prior to the set day of reopening, and the total had to be revised down in the light of the assessment report. “Prior to opening the facilities, the city ensured that they undergo thorough maintenance and preparation to ensure a healthy and safe swimming environment to bathers.

“Whilst only a selected number of pools are open, the city continues with maintenance at all times to ensure that the water quality of all pools is compliant with the safety standards set by Life Saving SA and the aquatics regulatory authorities,” explained Dlamini.
