Eighteen Canadians were among 157 people killed when an Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed near Addis Ababa just minutes after takeoff on Sunday, authorities say.
The plane, headed for Nairobi, departed from the Ethiopian capital at 8:38 a.m. local time, and contact was lost eight minutes later.A photo released by Ethiopian Airlines showed the airline’s chief executive officer inspecting the wreckage in a huge trench created by the crash.
