Minister of Police Bheki Cele announced the construction of the police station eight years ago in a budget speech in Parliament. Western Cape police spokesperson, Colonel Andrè Traut, said the Makhaza police station"is on the priority list for a new building".'We are gatvol!': Gatesville residents demand answers from police about abducted Abirah Dekhta
He added that the organisation was"highly disappointed" by what he viewed as a failure by police management in the province.The national police commissioner comes to imbizos and makes commitments on the date as to when they will put down a temporary structure, but that does not materialise.Provincial community policing forum chairperson Fransina Lucas said they were"disappointed the commitment was not honoured".
