South African Percy Tau dropped to the bench, as Ahly recalled Ayman Ashraf, Luis Miquissone, Salah Mohsen, Taher Mohamed and Mohamed Magdy among the changes instituted.
Whereas Ceramica were able to bring a run of back-to-back losses to an end when they stunned Pyramids 1-0 and picked up only their third win of the campaign. The Cairo Red Devils made another introduction just as the second half were about to take place, as Tau came on for Mohsen in a bid to refresh their attack.
Further reinforcements to the last third from the Cairo Red Devils followed towards fulltime with Karim Fouad and Mohamed Mahmoud introduced for Mohamed Hany and Sherif.
