The Economic Freedom Fighters ( EFF ) in South Africa has urgently called for prioritizing the welfare of 96 undocumented children from Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Lesotho who surfaced in an abandoned mine in Stilfontein, North West, amid concerns of human trafficking . The South Africa n Police Service (SAPS) and the South Africa n National Defence Force (SANDF) have undertaken Operation Vala Umgodi to limit supplies and address the situation.

The Department of Social Development has coordinated with the embassies of the children's countries of origin to facilitate their repatriation and provided health services to ensure their well-being
