Officers responding to the scene around 1 a.m. learned that a 2023 Tesla with six adults on board was eastbound on Ellerslie Road at a high rate of speed when the vehicle went off the road and rolled multiple times.Paramedics treated and transported two additional male passengers to hospital in critical condition, as well as a female whose condition is described as serious but stable.
The investigation is ongoing but investigators believe speeding was a significant factor in the crash. The city police major collision investigations section has taken over the case. “There’s people getting hurt and the reality is this behavior can’t be accepted and one of the best and most proven effective ways of doing it is seizing the vehicle where a person is and can’t have their vehicle for a couple of weeks and it basically is probably one of the best deterrents,” said McFee.Article content
