Among the hundreds of changes to his books, “females” have been erased in favour of “women” and the words “fat”, “crazy” and “mad” have been excised. While it’s true Dahl has a troubling history of making anti-Semitic remarks, his family quietly issued an apology for him in 2020. But this isn’t about hate speech.
