Former Wallabies head coach Eddie Jones says he won’t be applying for the British and Irish Lions post. The 63-year-old resigned from his position as coach of the Australian national rugby team following a disastrous 2023 Rugby World Cup campaign.Jones initially signed on as the Wallabies boss until 2027, which would have seen him take on the British & Irish Lions but last week, the former England mentor stepped down from his role after less than a year at the helm.“I have moved from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere,” Jones said.

“I had my go with England. I loved coaching England, and I wouldn’t want to be involved in the Lions. Not at all.”So far, the 63-year-old has not revealed his next move. “Post the World Cup, there was always going to be a decision to be made whether we were going to change Australian rugby or not,” he said.“I went in with a plan and had a commitment from Rugby Australia what that looked like.
