Ed Sheeran facetimes the Ipswich squad to plan a Premier League promotion party as the players celebrate in the dressing room
In case you didn't know, Ed Sheeran is an Ipswich fan - but he had to leave their Premier League opener early.for their first game in the top flight since 2002, and Sheeran, who was raised near Ipswich in Suffolk, was present for the occasion.Famous singer Sheeran has been the club's shirt sponsor since 2021 and became a stakeholder this week, buying 1.4 per cent of the club.
"Being able to watch world-class football is great. To go from League One to the Championship to here, we're going to see the difference in everything. "I started sponsoring them in League One and that carried on into the Championship. When it got to the Premier League, obviously the price of sponsorship is crazy. I said I'd do one season in the Prem and then Mark basically invited me to invest as a natural progression from being a sponsor.
