Four climate change protestors caused £7000 of damage to the Scottish Parliament by spraying it with red paint, a trial heard.
Hannah Torrance-Bright, 21, Georgia Barrett, 27, Ruth Lanser, 27 and Hannah Taylor, 23, pled not guilty to the charges on Monday at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. He said: “I noticed four ladies approach the main entrance. They looked around as if they were seeing if the coast was clear. She said damage to the sliding door caused by the cleaning cost £3900 while she heard the cleaning bill hit £3000.Torrance-Bright, a freelance community worker and student, told the trial she and her fellow protestors took action after “Rishi Sunak approved over 100 new oil and gas licences in the North Sea”.
