Eastern Cape tavern owner arrested after attempting to bribe police with a stack of cash

A tavern owner in the was arrested in the early hours of Christmas morning after attempting to bribe police officers with a stack of cash.

At around 00:45 they came across a tavern that was still open after its midnight curfew, and the officers instructed the owner to close shop and send the patrons home. Even after police refused to take the pile of cash, the man allegedly dropped it inside the police vehicle in a bid to drive his point home.
