Eastern Cape mayor appeals to cops after murder of 5 suspected stock thieves

Eastern Cape police have opened an inquest docket, pending the outcome of a post-mortem, after the burnt bodies of five people were discovered.

Calling on police to help locals to protect their livestock, Ngqushwa Local Municipality Mayor Sanga Maneli condemned the murder of five men in a suspected vigilante attack near Peddie, who were believed to have been involved in stock theft incidents.The men's bodies, which were burnt beyond recognition on the back of a bakkie, were found on Saturday evening along the R345 route in the Eastern Cape.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
