EXCLUSIVE: Former EastEnders actress Shona McGarty's romantic proposal from her new fiancé almost didn't go to plan when the police decided to rock up at the location
When Shona McGarty's fiancé David planned his romantic proposal, he never could have expected the police would show up in the middle of their cosy picnic.
Thankfully David, who Shona started dating last year, was there to save the day - and also his plan to get down on one knee. He explained: “I went over to the police, who said, ‘Sorry we are just closing up the park’. I said, ‘Would you mind giving me five minutes as I am about to propose to my partner?’
And the backdrop for the occasion was as equally stunning. David revealed it had to be perfect and he picked none other than Kyoto Garden in London’s Kensington - somewhere that means a lot to Shona.
