The Department of Work and Pensions has confirmed that some devolved payments and benefits will be paid early for some claimants due to the bank holiday weekend.delivers more than a dozen payments which are only available north of the border, including Adult Disability Payment and Scottish Child Payment.
Cash that was due to reach people on Good Friday or Easter Monday is instead being paid today due to the bank holiday. This advance also applies to DWP or HMRC payments that were due on the same dates. A spokesperson for Social Security Scotland said: “People who are due payments between Friday 7 April and Monday 10 April over the Easter bank holiday will receive these by close of business on today. All other payment dates will stay the same.”
Recipients will also enjoy an increase in a number of payments for the first time in 2023, with new rates coming into effect from April 1.
