Some payments are being made earlier

The Department for Work and Pensions has announced changes to Christmas and New Year benefit payments. Benefits including Universal Credit, child benefits and disability costs will be different during the festive period, with some people's money arriving earlier than expected.

Because Christmas Day fell on a Sunday with Boxing Day on a Monday the Christmas Day bank holiday was changed to Tuesday, December 27.
