One to watch out for
The Department for Work and Pensions have issued a warning to benefit claimants as payments may be delayed.
This follows the bank holiday we had on Monday for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth. Due to this, a delay is affecting benefits that were meant to be paid on Monday September 20 and Tuesday, 21. According to The Mirror, DWP have said some payment will arrive throughout the day they are due, rather than overnight.
Benefit payments were issued on September 16 to those who were due to get them on the date of state funeral. I need to send my son £12 for his bus pass to get to school this morning.Another tweeted: “I checked my bank at half two this morning, nothing had gone in. I felt sick to my stomach.A third posted: “I woke up five times during the night to check my bank account and nothing. So stressed and angry this is really bad.
