DWP Minister Mims Davies MP provided an update
The Department for Work and Pensions is expected to update claimants on when the first instalment of a £900 cost of living payment will hit their bank accounts. Residents up and down the country continue to feel the force of the living crisis following a difficult economic winter.
DWP Minister Mims Davies MP recently said qualifying dates for the £301 and £150 disability cost of living payments are being set out in legislation and that payment dates for the “vast majority” of people will be announced on the official GOV.UK page. People should search for Cost of Living Payments 2023 to 2024 in the search bar, which should appear at the top of the results.
“We will be delivering the means-tested cost of living payment of up to £900 in three separate payments. The first payment of £301 will be made from Spring 2023, the second payment of £300 from Autumn 2023 and the third payment of £299 from Spring 2024. Some 1.3 million claimants will be eligible through legacy DWP benefits such as Jobseekers Allowance and Income Support, reaching a total of 8.1 million households. Below is a guide to qualifying benefits for each of the cost of living payments.
