The Coalition leader’s speech comes at an important moment for an opposition that faces questions about its economic agenda and remains behind in the polls.
Weak CEOs and business leaders fearful of social media pile-ons must raise their voices to back policies that grow the economy, Peter Dutton says, as the alternative prime minister pitches the Coalition as the party of the working classes.
“The Liberal Party I lead appreciates the talents and contributions of the determined business owner as much as the driven worker,” Dutton will say at the National Small Business Summit, according to a draft speech.“Just as we are the party of small and family businesses, we are also the party of the worker.
Dutton will tell corporate leaders they had a moral imperative to use their public profiles to speak out about Labor’s economic and energy policies which he said were driving business offshore.
