Timothée Chalamet celebrates Dune: Part Two wrapping filming with a new behind-the-scenes photo from production. The critical and financial success of Denis Villeneuve's Dune in 2021 meant that the director got the opportunity from Warner Bros. Discovery to make a sequel.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY It has now been confirmed that production on Dune 2 has officially wrapped. Chalamet shared a very happy selfie of himself and his real-life father from the desert set of Dune 2 to celebrate the end of filming. Chalamet is not pictured in costume as Paul Atreides, but the desert filming location for the sequel is teased in the background. Dune 2's filming moved to Abu Dhabi in November, but it is unclear if this is where Chalamet's photo is from.
Dune 2's expansive story also calls for Baron Harkonnen , Gurney , Thufir Hawat , Glossu Raban , and Reverend Mother to return. The sequel also has several exciting new additions to the cast list, including Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan and Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha. Dune 2's new cast members also include Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot and Christopher Walken as Shaddam IV.
The collection of talent involved in Dune 2 makes the sequel one of the most anticipated movies of 2023, as another epic story is coming to theaters. Paul's time with the Fremen and becoming known as "Muad'Dib" will be explored as he attempts to defeat the Harkonnens, but a potential romance with Irulan and rivalry with Feyd-Rautha connect to his responsibilities in the grand scheme.
