PremiershipBaroka gave their chances of surviving relegation a massive boost after drubbing SuperSport United 3-1 courtesy of a brace by Bonginkosi Makume at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
United gave away another penalty just four minutes later after Siyabonga Nhlapo was also adjudged to have handled the ball in the box and Makume gave the home side a two-goal lead and completed his brace. Thwihli Thwahla got their noses in front in the ninth minute courtesy of Mfundo Thikazi but Pule Mmodi levelled matters for Abafana Bes'thende in the 18th minute.
However, the Citizens retained their three-point buffer ahead of third-placed Royal AM, who have a game in hand while Usuthu leapfrogged Orlando Pirates in sixth spot on the table, although Pirates have two games in hand.Chippa United officially survived relegation after playing to a goalless draw against Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium.
