Orlando Pirates and Chippa United could not be separated in the opening 45 minutes of their DStv Premiership encounter.Pirates were unchanged from the win over Simba on Sunday, as Kwame Peprah and Terrence Dzvukamanja led the attack, with support from Thembinkosi Lorch and Deon Hotto.
The Buccaneers were on the front foot in the early stages and Peprah came close to giving them the lead in the 15th minute with a glancing header that sailed wide of the far post after a cross by Innocent Maela. The hosts continued to press Chippa high and Ntsikelelo Nyauza had a chance to break the deadlock just before the half-hour mark with a towering header in the box but his effort cleared the crossbar.
However, the Chilli Boys had a better resistance towards the end of the first stanza as Janovane September forced a save out of goalkeeper Richard Ofori with a strike from range and the visitors remained resolute with a low block.Pirates: 31.
