Most of the UK will get a break from rain and wind on Saturday, before the remnants of Hurricane Nigel arrive with more wet weather
“The centre of the low pressure system is far off shore, as much as 1,000 miles away from the UK,” Met Office spokesman Grahame Madge said.
The worst of the wet weather from the remnants of Nigel is expected over the south-west of Scotland and the north-west of England. He said: “Saturday will be quite a good day across most of the UK, but come Sunday, areas to the north-west of the Humber will experience more unsettled weather.”
