A video of a drunk SABC employee causing a disturbance on a FlySafair flight has gone viral. The passenger was restrained by flight attendants and other passengers after demanding more alcohol and becoming verbally abusive.
A FlySafair Boxing Day flight from Durban to Cape Town descended into chaos when a drunk passenger was handcuffed and restrained mid-flight. The unnamed woman, who is an SABC employee, was filmed arguing with flight attendants, demanding yet another drink. In one viral TikTok video clip, she is seen standing in the aisle, pulling a flight attendant’s head aside as tensions escalate. She was handed over to police upon landing in Cape Town after being restrained with help from other passengers.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) confirmed the incident and regretted the employee's behavior, encouraging staff members to uphold respect and integrity. The woman was also heard referring to herself as ‘ANC b*tch’ and saying that nothing can happen to her. The ANC called the woman’s behaviour ‘unruly and unbecoming and against the values and principles of the movement’
