Breuklyne Jeffers and Tamica Reid-Foster claimed to be going to a funeral when they were caught
Two young women who were paid £300 each by crimelords to smuggle £75,000 worth of cannabis on a high speed train have walked free from court.
When police examined their mobile phones, they found images of the women smoking cannabis as well as texts referring to the sale of the drug. It emerged that Jeffers made at least three trips, while Reid-Foster made two. Jeffers’ bank account was examined and found to have had thousands of pounds passing through it.
Jeffers, of Upper Highgate Street, Birmingham, a single mum to a one-year-old boy with severe health issues, was sentenced to 13 months jail suspended for 18 months. Both women had no previous convictions. “All these are actions of a young woman who is contrite in her response and has herself taken positive actions to address her offending behaviour."
