Drivers have been warned of some key hypermiling tips that experts have said can save you more than £600 in a year just by being more wary.
Motorists have been told they could save as much as £50 each month just by driving more carefully, according to car experts.
Petrol prices have soared as of recently, as the RAC said current averages are 155.49p per litre for unleaded and 162.08p for diesel at fuel stations. Kevin added: "The bonus was I was saving money. Over a month, I could save up to £50 without really increasing my journey time. Most cars have a range metre now, telling you how many miles you have left. You do find you try to go further than the car thinks it can go on the fuel you’ve got.
This is because the lower your tyre pressure is, the more fuel your car will use to keep going. Keeping them inflated to the recommended level will not only benefit you in terms of safety and fuel consumption, but it’ll also help maximise their lifespan. Regulate your air conditioning use Air conditioning in the car can be a blessing during hot weather, but t also puts additional strain on your engine. So, if you’re stuck in traffic or travelling at slow speeds, then we’d recommend turning off your air con and opening the window as an alternative way to keep cool.
