Durham Regional Police say an Oshawa man has been charged with impaired driving after he allegedly struck a police cruiser on the weekend.

, conducting traffic control for a trailer that was partially blocking the road last Sunday.At around 3 a.m., a westbound driver allegedly hit the trailer and the police cruiser, police say.

When officers went to check on the driver, they found the 33-year-old man allegedly still holding a beer in his hand. He was arrested and charged with a number of impaired driving charges, including operating a vehicle while impaired.
