Police do not believe the driver was in physical control of the moving vehicle.
A driver fully reclined in his seat with drug paraphernalia on his lap and using the car’s driver-assisted technology was stopped by police in Qualicum Beach.
The car was intercepted near Cook Creed Road. Police said that the driver, an Alberta man in his 40s, showed symptoms of impairment, while the passenger, a man in his 30s from the Oceanside area, had a small quantity of a powder suspected to be fentanyl.
