Abdulwahed Hussain attacked Peter Hendry during the incident on Kelvinhaugh Street on the afternoon of November 28, 2021.Hussain, 28, tooted his horn and Mr Hendry responded by kicking his vehicle before continuing to cross the road.At Glasgow Sheriff Court this week, the prosecutor said: “The accused knocked the complainer onto his backside before getting into his vehicle and driving off.
“Police were contacted and attended. Officers had to convey Mr Hendry to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. “He had a broken nose and a cut to the bridge of his nose. The cut required three stitches. The doctor stated the injury would cause permanent scarring. “About a week later Mr Hendry had the stitches removed and a few days after he attended a clinic at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. A specialist realigned his broken nose.”
Hussain was later traced at his home, and on November 30, he was informed he was under arrest and charged with assaulting Mr Hendry to his injury.He added: “Mr Hendry kicked and damaged the rear of his vehicle. Mr Hussain stopped and got out and confronted him. He punched him once.Sheriff Bernard Ablett told Hussain: “You inflicted injury to Mr Hendry – his nose was broken.
