The Warriors coach told reporters Sunday that the team will sign guard Mychal Mulder to“We are working towards bringing him back, and we’re confident that’s going to happen,” Kerr told reporters at the Warriors practice facility . “We don’t practice tomorrow, but we anticipate having him Tuesday . We’ll see what that means.”
Mulder, 25, has been revelatory in six games with the Warriors. He's averaging 12.3 points per game on 43.1 percent shooting from the field and 35.6 percent from beyond the 3-point line. Two weeks ago, Mulder was a member of the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce. Now, he's leading the Warriors in plus-minus and second in 3-pointers since making his NBA debut on Feb. 27. Mulder also is second on the team in defensive rating and first in net rating during that time, and Kerr made it clear Saturday he wanted to see Mulder"Mychal is fantastic," Kerr told reporters at Chase Center after Golden State's win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
The Warriors reportedly could have Mulder around for the rest of the season, too. Mulder has a"good chance" of joining Golden State on a veteran's minimum contract for the rest of the season after his next 10-day deal, a league source told The Chronicle's Connor Letourneau.
