One man and three teenage boys have been arrested and charged following the incident
This is the dramatic moment when a man was filmed fleeing a car chase through a field of wheat after the stolen vehicle crashed near a Scots festival.
Three police cars were spotted chasing a Land Rover Discovery before the vehicle crashed and the occupants fled on foot. It appears one of the police cars had made contact with the Land Rover before the vehicles came to a stop. One shocked eyewitness told the Record: "I was on my way to the Party at the Palace at around 7pm on Sunday on the M9 when I heard police sirens behind me. I had to pull over a bit as a Land Rover Discovery sped past at what must have been around 120mph.
"The police cars were all around it. One guy was getting huckled over a barrier and taken away. Then in the distance we could see another guy running away over a field towards the Party in the Palace. A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and was due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.50pm on Sunday, August 13, 2023 a vehicle, which had been reported stolen, failed to stop for officers on the M8 near junction 4A, Heartlands. A pursuit followed and the vehicle crashed into a barrier on the A803, Linlithgow. There were no reported injuries.
