The DA cited the closure of many NGOs due to the 'cruel' lockdown restrictions imposed by the government and intends to take the department of social development to court.

In a statement, DA MP James Lorimer said on Tuesday: “These draft regulations prohibit NGO’s from distributing food to desperate and hungry people cut off from providing for themselves due to lockdown regulations. “The NGOs were helping lift the heavy burden from the shoulders of the state, but instead of support, they’ve seen only scorn and bureaucratic red tape.
