Dr Michael Mosley has said people can drastically improve their workouts by consuming the right drink at the right time.
He said: "Coffee as most people know contains caffeine which is a powerful stimulant produced by plants to help ward off insects. Coffee is also rich in polyphenols which are anti-oxides that have a powerful anti-inflammatory effect. People also had a lower risk of stroke, heart disease and dementia. Daily consumers had healthy and better-functioning hearts, while studies also found a single cup of coffee boosted alertness and mood.
