Local media states that 35 people were killed and 48 injured in a stampede in the southeastern city of Kerman, where Soleimani is being laid to rest.
Pirhossein Koulivand, head of Iran's emergency services, confirmed to state TV that deaths occurred in a stampede among mourners on Tuesday,reported. Fars news agency tweeted that the numbers of dead and injured have not been confirmed by Iran’s Ministry of Health.
