Colts only choice is trade with Bears for No. 1 pick in 2023 NFL Draft
If the Texans want Bryce Young, they'll want that No. 1 pick before the Colts get him. If they prefer Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud? They could sit pat, sure, but a handful of other teams want a quarterback, too – the Raiders , Panthers and Titans – and they’ll be trying to entice the Bears with exorbitant offers of their own. The bidding war will be intense.
The Colts have to be right. They could sit there and do nothing, let three different NFL franchises dictate to them which quarterbacks will still be available at No. 4 –– and they’d have to be right. Or they could trade away picks galore for the No. 1 pick, ratcheting up the pressure to be right. If Bryce Young is the next Pat Mahomes or Drew Brees or someone like that, is anyone around here going to miss that first-rounder in 2024 or 2025, or those multiple second-, third- or fourth-rounders in 2025 and ’26?since Andrew Luck retired,Quick question: Any idea what Kansas City gave up six years ago to move up 17 spots in the first round, and to use that No. 10 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft on Patrick Mahomes?
