'At these intersections, where people get to Water Street or Harbour Drive, there are going to be traffic impacts,' a city planning spokesperson says of projects at Waldergrave and Prescott starting in April and finishing in June. nltraffic
Phase five of the Big Dig in downtown St. John’s is expected to start in April, which includes upgrades at the intersections of Water Street at Prescott Street/Job's Cove and Waldegrave Street. The project aims to replace and upgrade underground sewer and water infrastructure on Water Street and some side streets. Keith Gosse/The TelegramST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A sign of spring in St.
It’s expected during this phase that pedestrian and cyclist access will be continued and vehicle through traffic will be maintained, with delays expected because of lane reductions. White said new manholes, catch basins, pipes, and storm and sanitary sewers will be installed at both intersections and there will be periods of time when people cannot get through. There won’t be overlap on the work being done on the two intersections, he said, which hopefully will minimize traffic disruptions. Excavation will also be needed for access pits for water main lining and where required to separate combined sewers.
