Downs' Diski title charge dented by Stellies
Mamelodi Sundowns were unable to stretch the lead at the top of the DStv Diski Challenge standings following a 2-1 loss to Stellenbosch FC in a top-of-the-table showdown on Sunday.
The Urban Warriors followed this on the back of last weekend’s over provincial rivals and title chasers Stellenbosch FC, whilst Usuthu’s disastrous season down the quagmire continues.Richards Bay FC maintained their winning run of form and moved further up the table following a resounding 5-0 victory over TS Galaxy.
The victory guides the Amakhosi into third spot on the table ahead of bitter rivals Orlando Pirates, who they defeated in the Soweto derby last weekend.Orlando Pirates were denied the chance to restore their title charge and stuttered to a goalless draw against Sekhukhune United. It was tight throughout with a draw seemingly on the cards, but Matsatsantsa stole the points through a last-gasp finish from Kabelo Selowa.
