U.S. stock benchmarks finished well off the day's lows but remained under pressure Thursday as U.S.-China trade tensions continued to weigh on Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.54% closed down 138 points, or 0.5%, at 25,828, with blue chips putting in an intraday low at 25,517.39, while the S&P 500 index SPX, -0.30% booked a 0.3% loss at 2,871, booking a fourth straight decline and finishing near its lowest since early April, according to FactSet data.
