Premier Doug Ford backed the “people of Ottawa” and not members of the so-called “Freedom Convoy,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters on Tuesday.

Ford and Jones are “seeking a judicial review to set aside the summons on the grounds of inconsistency with parliamentary privileges,” according to Andrew Kennedy, spokesperson for the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario. During a press conference with Trudeau on Oct. 17, Ford said he “stood shoulder to shoulder” with the prime minister regarding the federal government’s use of the act.
