MINNEAPOLIS — Add Dorian Finney-Smith to the Mavericks’ growing list of injury concerns.in the final minute of the third quarter, and the team announced shortly after that he would not return because of a right adductor strain.
That’s the same injury designation — involving the groin muscles on the inner thigh — that sidelined Lakers superstar LeBron James for six games and Toronto Raptors All-Star Pascal Siakam for 10 games earlier this season. In the postgame locker room, Finney-Smith said the injury first surfaced after he took a hit in the Maverick’ Saturday night loss in Cleveland. But then Finney-Smith “landed funny” on a block attempt in the second quarter Monday, and the pain increased.
“Feel like I probably made it worse,” Finney-Smith said of playing until 29.3 seconds remained in the third quarter. “It takes a lot for me to get out of there.”
